When we’re growing up, society often tells us that we’re not old enough.
And then one day, without warning, society tells us that we’re too old.
We’re persistent when we’re young.
But, unfortunately, after a certain age, we often give up or don’t even try.
We listen to society.
What do the dying state as their top regret?
Overwhelming, they wish they lived a life true to themselves, not the life others expected of them.
I turn 42 this week (Happy Birthday to me).
I used to follow the path that society wanted me to believe I should.
Most of the time, I found this unsatisfying.
But when I followed my heart, irrespective of “age appropriateness,” I was more fulfilled.
Soon, I open a new chapter in my life.
Some say the time is not right.
I should take the “safe” route.
Whether I succeed or fail, I’ll take solace when the end comes, knowing I was true to myself.
Take a moment right now; what dreams have you delayed or forgotten?
Ask yourself, why?
