From promoting local events to working with major artists like Lady Gaga and Pitbull, newsletters drove concert ticket sales and expanded our audience. We are referring to a thought leadership newsletter that features industry insights, how-to guides, expert interviews, industry job updates, and useful resources.

Building Your Thought Leadership Newsletter Strategy

Our firm has developed a 5-step process called AWARE to create a thought leadership newsletter that builds awareness, improves the effectiveness of outbound sales programs, and nurtures prospects. Here is the framework:

A—Address a Challenge: Start by defining your newsletter’s primary goal. Whether it’s increasing brand awareness, driving traffic, generating leads, or establishing authority, having a clear objective will guide your content and design decisions.

W—Widen Your Audience: To expand the newsletter’s reach, identify the target audience, build ideal company profiles, and create buyer personas and prospect lists through tools like ZoomInfo and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.

A—Assemble Your Content: Decide on the type of content that will populate your newsletter. This could include original, curated, or repurposed content. The key is ensuring the content is relevant and valuable to your audience.

R—Render Your Design: A well-designed newsletter looks professional and enhances readability. Develop a template that aligns with your brand and makes it easy to insert content. Ensure your design is mobile-friendly, as many readers will access your newsletter on their mobile devices.

E—Evaluate Performance: Track important performance metrics like open rates, click-through rates, and subscriber growth. Then, use this data to enhance your content and increase engagement, all with the end goal of generating leads and conversions.
