I can’t believe it. ?
What started as a crazy idea is now a reality. ?
My consulting business started on January 1st.
As we move to Q3, this means the company is turning 6 months old.
By all accounts, the firm is off to a great start.
Results thus far have exceeded projections.
As we reach this milestone, I’ve stopped to ask myself two questions. ?
1. Am I finding the business satisfying?
2. Is this what I thought it would be?
The answer is “yes” and “yes.”
However, a third question emerged.
Have I taken the time to celebrate our achievements? ?
The answer is somewhere between “not enough” and “no.”
Instead, I keep thinking 3 months, 1 year, and 3 years down the road.
I falsely assume that once I reach certain milestones, I can finally savor success. ?
But the reality is, once that date comes, I’ll already be focused on what’s next.
If we’re waiting for future events and not enjoying what we have now, what’s it all for?
I believe it’s important to celebrate.
Savoring our successes reinforces the motivation that carries us to our next achievement.
I’m glad I stopped to reflect.
Maybe I need to build in pauses like this regularly?
Do you get caught up and forget to enjoy the journey too?
We may have a long way to go, but we mustn’t overlook how far we’ve come. ?️
