Is it ok to share our successes with others?
I’ve been wrestling with this since we crossed two key milestones. I want to celebrate these achievements with others. But to celebrate with others means I need to tell others. You run the risk of coming across as a braggart by telling others. The truth is, launching a business isn’t easy. It’s taken a tremendous amount of hard work from our team. Without the team, I would never have reached these milestones. So I decided to share the news with family and friends. Everyone was very supportive. It felt great. Even as I write this, though, I am conflicted. Do I share the specifics of the milestones or keep them vague?Writing has taught me a lot, but the biggest learning is to be vulnerable. I started Monday Motivation shortly before officially launching the business. I feel like many of you have been along for the ride. So I will share, and I am excited to share our good news. Recently our business had its first $100K month. And better yet, we reached $1MM in revenue after just 15 months. Back to my original question, is it ok to share our successes with others? I say, what’s the point of all of this if you’re unable to enjoy the journey? Part of enjoying the journey is celebrating wins like these. Look within yourself. What milestones have you or will you achieve? Nervous about sharing them? In my experience, the benefits far outweigh the risks. I encourage you to celebrate the milestones as you prepare for the road ahead.
