Everything was crashing in on me. ?
A broken leg.
A failed relationship.
A frivolous lawsuit.
The timing was terrible.
Recently I had become a father.
With all of this happening, I made a tough decision. ⚓️
Close down my business.
I worked so hard, and this is where it got me?
I felt like the unluckiest person on Earth.
Exploring what’s next, I started job hunting.
I landed an interview for a biz dev role at a leading agency. ??
I was so excited.
But after several rounds of interviews, I was rejected.
More bad luck. ?
I “wasn’t ready” for the role.
It stung.
Despite these challenges, I never stopped.
Eventually, someone took a chance, and I landed a biz dev role.
I wanted to excel.
To gain knowledge, I read books and listened to podcasts. ??
To help with my mindset, I started meditating.
To improve communication, I joined a public speaking group.
I became a top performer and was recruited twice over the next 8 years. ?
With each new opportunity, I poured everything I had into it.
But during the pandemic, I decided it was time to start a business again.
Over our first 1 1/2 years, we’ve gone from 0 clients to over a dozen.
But I am incredibly proud of one of those clients.
Why?
Remember that agency where I “wasn’t ready” and was rejected?
They sought me out and are now a client.
Hard work puts you where good luck can find you.
