What can you learn about business growth from Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper?

In the movie ” A Star is Born,”

Lady Gaga plays a struggling artist.

Bradley Cooper plays Jackson Maine, a famous country music singer.

Bobby is Jackson’s manager and older half-brother.

We learn that growing up; Bobby had a better voice than Jackson.

But Bobby never achieved stardom.

Instead, he essentially became Jackson’s errand boy.

In a scene of brotherly rivalry, an angry Jackson tells Bobby he was no good as a singer.

Bobby fires back, “If I was no good, why did you steal my voice?”

Jackson replies,

“Because you had nothing to f***cking say. You were too proud to sing any of the songs I ever wrote.”

The line that struck me was…

“Nothing to f***cking say.”

Bobby was a great singer, better than Jackson.

But he wasn’t vulnerable.

Rawness emotionally connects you with the audience.

Bobby wouldn’t put himself out there.

Because of this, he never realized his full potential.

It got me thinking of many of our clients.

The team is talented.

Their work is good.

Yet the firm struggles to get to the next level.

Why?

Like Bobby, the agency has nothing to f***cking say.

In other words, they lack a point of view.

A POV differentiates you.

It’s contrarian or polarizing.

A point of view challenges client beliefs or assumptions.

It positions you as a consultant versus an order taker.

Many believe they have a POV.

But it’s powerless if it’s already generally accepted by the market.

Are you…

Struggling to get in the door with the clients you really want?

Getting ghosted by prospects after you meet?

Winning the pitches you deserve?

Learn from Jackson Maine and Bobby.

Have a strong point of view.

Have something to f***cking say.

The right perspective makes the impossible possible.

The Right Perspective Makes The Impossible Possible
